The Arizona Sonoran Desert is most alive with vibrant color in the spring. Add the great weather that time of year and you have the perfect creativity environment. The base of operations will be Phoenix from which we will explore the Apache Trail, the Superstition Mountains, White Tanks, Bartlett Lake and Piccacho Peak as well as some other fantastic sites. Even when there are no flowers in a particular area, the locations themselves are the photographer's delight.
The Arizona desert is well known for its spectacular sunrises and sunsets as well as the variety of little critters that scurry about at sunrise that you may have the opportunity to photograph. Wildflowers native to the desert include Poppies, Desert Lupine, Owl's Clover, Brittlebrush, Penstemon, Desert Paintbrush, Dessert Marigold, and the many varieties of cactus and succulents. Since not all come into full bloom at the same time one species may be more prominent than the other. And, don't forget to capture the spectucular Saguaro cactus at sunset, after choosing your favorite.
